Dr. Jackie Mak was born in Hong Kong and moved to Australia during her teenage years. She pursued her medical education at The University of New South Wales in Sydney, graduating in 2012. Since then, Dr. Mak began her medical career in Perth.
Before transitioning to General Practice, Dr. Mak dedicated several years to a career in General Surgery, gaining valuable experience at every major hospital in Perth. Her extensive training encompassed various surgical specialties, equipping her with a broad skill set. Additionally, she worked in several tertiary Emergency Departments in Perth, further enhancing her clinical expertise and ability to handle complex medical situations.
As a proud mother of two, Dr. Mak made the decision to shift her focus to General Practice, allowing her to balance her professional aspirations with her family life. In her role as a GP, she consults on all aspects of general practice and has maintained a keen interest in procedures and women’s health. Her specialties include skin cancer medicine, IUD insertion (both hormonal and copper), Implanon insertion and removal, ear wax micro-suction using advanced specialised equipment, and ingrown toenail excision.
Dr. Mak is fluent in both Cantonese and Mandarin.
