Dr. Lok Ping (Valerie) So

Dr Valerie So was born in Guangdong, China, and later moved to Hong Kong with her family during her teenage years. She completed her medical degree at The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2013 and began her medical career as a family doctor.
Dr So furthered her expertise by completing a Postgraduate Diploma in Geriatric Medicine, developing a strong interest in the care of elderly patients and patients with complex medical needs. In recognition of her training and experience, she was awarded Fellowships from both the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) and the Hong Kong College of Family Physicians.
Dr So then relocated to Australia and practised as a GP in Canberra for some time before moving to Perth. She consults across all areas of general practice, with particular interests in Women’s Health, Paediatrics, and Geriatric Medicine. As a mother of three, Dr So relates naturally to families and understands the practical and emotional aspects of caring for children and families, making her especially approachable for parents and young women.
Dr So is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin; and is passionate about providing culturally sensitive, patient-centred care.
Outside of work, Dr So enjoys cooking, reading, and watching movies in her spare time
